This antique bus route number designation indicator has four independently operated numeric rollsigns which can be changed by manually rotating small knobs to indicate the route number of the bus. Made of heavy steel, this apparatus was meant to be mounted into front of the bus whereby the driver could easily change the route number by rotating the knobs overhead. This sign is outfitted with electrical wire which we believe is used to light up the numbers from within (please note: this has not been tested). Please note that since this was meant to be mounted, the sign does not stand upright on its own. Sign is in good overall vintage condition, showing surface wear and minor rust - but is in very good structural condition and each rotating number knob works splendidly. Measures approximately 15" wide x 8" high.
