Framed 50's/60's Diner Placemat - "Superstitions"
Growing up in Jersey, diners were a part of everyday life and created great memories for me (stu). Inspired by the diners I grew up with, I set out to collect old diner placemats. Each diner placemat is unique and has its own quirky way of sharing trivia and little-known facts.
This placemat entitled "Superstitions", provides such factoids, did-you-know's and, well, superstitions as:
- Bubbles in coffee means money
- The gift of a knife cuts a friendship
- Put salt by a baby's crib for good luck
- Enclose a coin in a purse that is to be a gift
- Always enter a house right foot first
- It's unlucky to wash a blanket in a month without an "R" in it
- A cat that sits with its back to a fire is raising a storm
Placemats come in a clean and simple walnut wood frame ready for display.
