Gameboard Art - Wide World
This 1933 board game by Parker Brothers entitled "Wide World" is indeed a wonderful work of art in itself and would look amazing in any modern environment, whether it be your living room or a child's bedroom.

The original game was designed by Hendrik Van Loon, a famous Dutch-born American historian and journalist who authored over 30 works including "The Story of Mankind", a history of the world especially for children, which won the first Newbery Medal in 1922. The game board is brilliantly illustrated with colored-pencil-like shading and details of ships, mountain ranges and sea creatures. The object of the original game was to be the first player to complete the trip around the world from San Francisco to Manila, by steamer and airplane.

Gameboard measures 26.5"w x 16.75"h and is in used vintage condition with expected wear and character for an item of its age (mild warping and yellowing, but no major stains). It is certainly display-worthy and a lovely addition to your home.
