Late 1800's Woodruff's File Holder
Rare late 1800's wood and iron Woodruff's File Holder. Front-facing paper label reads "7 Kansas Cavalry" with custom Woodruff's-branded hardware pull. On rear board, which holds the iron anvil mechanism, original paper label reads, "Woodruff's Improved File Holder for filing letters, bills, deeds, wills, vouchers, briefs, pamphlets, &c., for ready reference. Operation - Take hold of the iron lever at its lower end and draw it back; place the Papers within the Box, with their briefings turned from the movable board; press the lever at its lower end toward the Papers and they become tightened. To loosen them, press the movable board at its top toward the Papers and draw the lever back at its bottom." File Holder is in good overall condition and measures 5'w x 13"d x 11"h.
