Royal Horticultural Society of London Colour Chart - 1966
Extremely rare original 1966 R.H.S. (Royal Horticultural Society) of London Colour Chart set in complete and mint condition. Set includes four officially sanctioned colour "fans" (similar to a Pantone system) used to correctly identify the colour name of horticultural specimens such as flowers, plants, leaves, etc. Set includes a detailed overview and instructional sheet for use of colour fans, which notes such directions as "In order to ensure as much uniformity of result as is possible - Specimens should be examined and matched indoors in a good north light; flowers and foliage as soon after cutting as possible. For flower-matching take two or three average blooms just fully out for a general description" and "Never attempt to match colours if the eye has become fatigued".
