We were informed that this very space-age 2-piece melamine sphere and its four mini serving dishes were originally intended for serving steamed rice at dinner parties (how very mod!). We love the pod-like shape and how the cutout gives it an almost robot-like feel. Both sphere and dishes are in good overall vintage condition, showing only minor surface scratches/wear. Sphere measures approximately 5.25" in diameter. Each of the four mini dishes measure approximately 3.25" in diameter.
