Taxi Cab Meter Box
Living out in the suburbs now, driving from place to place, there's actually one thing we really miss - taxi cabs. This antique 1930's-40's taxi cab meter was obtained from an avid taxi memorabilia collector, and here's a recap of his information download to us:

1. Flag in Vertical Position = Vacant
2. Driver picks up a passenger, turned red knob several times (to wind-up), pushed flag left, then right to a horizontal position (clicking sound).
3. Basic Fare is .75 cents plus .10 cents per minute.
4. More than one passenger, push extra button, .20 cents.
5. Destination reached, read meter, collect money, turn flag (clockwise) to vertical position.

Please note that this meter box is no longer in working order and does appear as though the exterior casing was painted black at some point in time. Measures approximately 8."w x 6.5"w x 4"h (not including flag height).
