These vintage Ex Libris Bookplates are made by Antioch Bookplate Company. This company is still around today and was founded in 1926 by Ernest Morgan and Walter Kahoe at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

The story of how they came to producing bookplates is interesting. They worked at the campus print shop and were distressed by the volume of paper cut-offs generated by the printing process. The two students decided to find ways to turn waste into an opportunity, scrounging printing supplies and using the shop's press after hours.

They are a large company now and still produce bookplates. This complete set of fifty is vintage and has two designs (25 of each). Printed on Rag Paper and gummed for easy application to your books.
